Hanau authorities have selected 4 competitors for the redevelopment of the city district around Freiheitsplatz : MAB Development, HBB, ECE and the team 3W/ING Real Estate. The MAB project was pulled out in June 2009 and ECE in October 2009. The HBB project was selected in May 2010. Hanau Forum is a 4-storey shopping arcade anchored by Rewe. Hamburg Trust is to acquire it from HBB by January 2017. HBB is to keep the management of the shopping centre.
