Intu Puerto Venecia

Shopping and entertainment centre located south of the city, by the ringway. it is the largest one in Spain (60 hectares) with 206.000 sqm GLA. It is articulated around a 12.000 sqm artificial lake and includes a 10-screen multiplex, restaurants, discos, hotels (22.000 sqm SBA). a 83.000 sqm retail park (see Puerto Venecia Retail park) completes the commercial offer. Although the local authorities rejected at first the creation of a "classic" shopping centre, it at last accomodates a 39.000 sqm El Corte Inglès/Hipercor shopping centre and a 59.000 sqm,3-storey shopping arcade dedicated to fashion. Developers : Retail parks SA. Investors: Orion Capital/British Land (50/50). In 2013 Orion acquire the 50% stake of British Land. End 2014, Intu acquire the shopping centre and the retail park for 451 M €. In June 2015, Intu sold 50% of Puerto Venecia to CPPIB. In 2018, it was rebranded Intu Puerto Venecia.
