- As the name indicates, this cobble stone street is very steep and covers over a distance of +/- 300 meters a height difference of 22 meters. Only the 'lower' part of the street is considered to be prime, with many key retailers present such as H&M, Zara, Springfield, Z, Ici Paris XL and recently joined Mim, Camaïeu and Six. The higher part of the street (separated from the lower part by the Boulevard Audent) is definitely much less in demand, or is chosen by the hardware retailers, who cannot afford the rental values of the lower part. One should note that for a number of years now, an important development project is under way, to create a shopping mall of approximately 35.000 m2, located on the best part of the Rue de la Montagne, the Rue de Damprémy and the Boulevard Audent.
