  • Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland and the biggest city by far in the country. With a population of 350,000 in the city centre, which rises to over 700,000 if you include the Belfast Metropolitain area, the city is an exciting prospect to retailers locating in the area. Belfast is the tenth largest city in the UK and is benefiting from recent redevelopment of both infrastructure and urban landscape. At this moment in time there are two main Shopping Centres in Belfast. Castle Court is situated in the centre of Belfast and home to mainstream retailers. Forestside is an out of town centre that also houses mainstream retailers and enjoys an affluent customer base. Donegall Place is the prime high street in Belfast. It has a very high footfall and has a broad mix of primary retailers. Lisburn Road is in an affluent area and as a result houses trendy boutiques and restaurants. The new Victoria Square Shopping Centre opened in March 2008.
